Metal Backed sanding Pad
Hiretech announce a
new metal backed sanding pad for the HT7 Disc Floor
Sander for improved ‘feel and touch’ and
increased sanding performance.
FEATURES
Metal backed edger sanding pads,
traditionally used in the professional floor sander
market, are tough and resilient but lack feel and
are unforgiving when used by an inexperienced operator.
Hiretech have designed and developed
a new, metal backed sanding pad that provides the
performance of a traditional pad with the feel and
touch of Hiretech’s nylon backed pad.
A high precision press tool produces
a dynamically balanced disc to which the rubber sanding
pad is bonded using a specially developed process.
This special process allows the rubber pad to be bonded
to the metal back leaving an 8mm (5/16”) deep
rubber edge around the whole circumference of the
disc. This provides far better ‘feel and touch’
to the sander than a traditional metal backed pad,
where the metal back covers the whole of the rubber
pad down to its front edge. This design also allows
the pad to be accurately trimmed and properly maintained
through the whole of its life.
The design also improves operator
safety and reduces the risk of base boards, pipe work
and other exposed work surfaces being cut into, as
there is no exposed metal edge to the pad as found
on a traditional or poor quality metal backed sanding
pad.
The Hiretech metal backed sanding
pad is manufactured as a dynamically balanced component
that does not require any additional balancing or
corrective procedures to make it run without vibration.
This ensures that the sander will run smoothly prolonging
both the life of the pad, drive gear and motor line
of the sander.
The dynamic balance and increased
weight of the metal backed pad produces a ‘flywheel’
effect, balancing centrifugal forces of the motor
and making the HT7 even easier to handle and use.
USES
The Hiretech metal backed and nylon
backed sanding pads are suitable for use on all HT7-2,
HT7-1 and Super Seven Disc Floor Sanders and Edgers
and floor types.
The metal backed pad is fitted as
standard to all new HT7-2 Disc Floor Sanders and is
recommended for professional and quality hire and
rental applications.
The nylon backed pad is recommended
for use where the machine is likely to be operated
only by homeowners or where there is limited access
to service and support. |
